MIL-H-5606 hydraulic fluid, a mineral oil-based fluid has an excellent operational properties over the temperature range of 65?F to 275?F.Flammability,a major deficiency in this fluid was overcome by developing hydraulic fluids based on phosphate ester.More recently MIL-PRF-87257A was introduced to overcome its low viscosity problem.
The different types of Aeroshell Hydraulic Fluids are 41, 71, 31, 51, 61 ,AeroShell Shock Strut Fluid [SSF] and AeroShell Landing Gear Fluid [LGF].The non-aviation types include Aeroshell 4,31and 41.
