Interface for character LCD module. Provides space enough to mount 16 char X 2 rows LCD directly on SM-BaseBoard.
LCD backlighting can be always ON or always OFF or controlled by micro-controller port pin. One of these 3 options can be selected by jumper.
On-board 3V battery - for providing backup to RTC in micro-controller modules.
