Product Profile of High-voltage Probes
The Motwane Manufacturing Company manufactures and supplies high-voltage probes model HV-40. It works as optional accessories for digital multimeters. It is capable of measuring high voltage up to 40 kV AC/DC or measurements up to 100 Hz. The digital multimeters are kept away from the measuring point via 1.5 m long connecting wire. The length of the probes is 375 mm and weight is approximately 0.75 kg. Some technical specifications of the probes are: input resistance of 1000 Mohm approximately; division ratio of 105:1 [into 10 Mohm]; range of 1 kV to 40 kV; DC accuracy ? 5 per cent up to 25 kV & ? 7 per cent above 25 kV; and AC accuracy of ? 5 per cent over & above DC accuracy.
