Used for the manufacture of phosphorus tri-esters, which are obtained by reaction of phosphorus oxychloride with alcohols, phenols and epoxides. These esters are used, e.g. as plasticizers, pesticides, non-flammable hydraulic fluids and as flame retardants for plastics.
Used as intermediates in the production of pharmaceutical active ingredients.
Used as a catalyst and as a chlorinating agent.
