Planetary Lapping Machines are ideally suited to lap thin, fragile materials. These machines can lap both sides of a work piece simultaneously to achieve parallelism of 2 microns and flatness of 1 light band to 2 light band on 75mm diameter. These machines have been very successfully be used in the lapping of silicon wafers, germanium wafers, ferrite and piezoelectric ceramics.
