Product Profile of Thyristor Converters - Mk-iii
Mysore-based Kirloskar Electric manufactures Thyristor converters, MK-III. These are
are useful for various process applications in steel, paper, textile and material handling areas. These converters use single-phase fully controlled thyristor bridges. In most applications the bridge is used to control the armature voltage. These converters feature built-in isolation amplifier for armature voltage feedback. Electrical specifications are as follows:
MK-III min drive modules are rated up to 30 Amps
? Input supply: 240V, Single phase, 50 Hz or, 415V line-line, 50 Hz supply with voltages of 10 percent and frequency variation of 3 percent
? Armature voltage: suitable for DC motors of armature with voltage supply of 180V or 320V when operating on line-neutral or line-line supply, respectively
? Field supply: 240V, single-phase 50Hz input, 200V DC at maximum 2A DC output
? Speed range: 1:10 by armature voltage control at constant torque Speed regulation: +/-1 percent with tacho feedback [dependent on type of tacho used] or +/-3 percent with armature voltage feedback, at base speed
