Elecon Engineering Company supplies has successfully developed a kiln drive main gearbox with special design. This rotary klin drive gearbox provides incorporating the features of dual tandem system under technical know-how from Renk Tacke, Germany. The gearbox is basically designed with quadruple stage reduction for an absorbed power of 173.22 kW at 1000 RPM having input and output shaft extended on either side with horizontal offset of 1642.40 mm and vertical offset of 280.20 mm, with provision of oil injection holes in the respective shaft for an adjustment of dynamic tooth contact by means of hydraulic pressure. Electrical Brief specifications of this gearbox include: Model - B40/BZ 2x76; motor power -210 kW DC; absolute power -173.22 kW; input speed100 to 1000 RPM; output speed - 0.4747 4.747 RPM; output torque -348490 Nm; oil flow - 150 LPM; and weight - 16,300 kg. Following are some of the constructional features of this drive gearbox: The gears are made from high tensile carburising alloy steel, 17CrNiMob as per DIN 17210, case hardened to 60 +/ 2 HRC, precisely ground to accuracy class B as per DIN 3961 63. The output shaft is made from medium carbon steel CK 60N as per DIN 17200 of adequate size to withstand heavy load transmission for better rigidity without undue deflection. The shafts are supported in anti-friction spherical roller bearings having ample dynamic capacity to providegive better working life and flexibility against misalignment.
